Ayşegül Karaali

I am just a curious person who likes nature and sports, hikes up to the mountains and jumps into the cold waters, runs in the forests and travels as much as possible. I am Aisha, a 23 year old Turkish girl, born and raised in Istanbul. Three years ago I moved to Slovenia with my little sister. We planned to stay in Slovenia for a year so that she could study and I could improve my English. After a while, I decided to continue with my studies in Slovenia. Started studying the language, and now I Iive and study in this beautiful country. I explore the country and its culture while still improving both English and Slovene. Here, I am going to share my stories with you. Join me through the adventure.

Wild Swimming Experience in Slovenia

Slovenia offers you so many enchanting places for swimming if you are the kind of person who likes exploring the beauties of nature. Slovenia is a place where you can find countless captivating places.

Here I am sharing my adventures in Slovenia. This time I am exploring the coldest lakes for my wild swimming experience. While learning how to beat the cold, this challenge turned into fun.

It just makes me madly excited.

How did the story start?

Some people say that they are summer people. I would say I am not only a summer person, but I feel like a fading flower in the coldest days of the year.

I have never met someone like me. I am literally freezing in winter. I lived in Antalya, Turkey’s southern Mediterranean region, known as the Turquoise Coast for its blue waters.

I always felt like a part of me belonged to the sea. The moment I feel the best is when I swim alone in the middle of the sea. My second favorite is sitting in front of the sea with someone I like.

Then I moved to Ljubljana and spent the coldest year of my life. There was no sea very close to me. Slovenia has really sharp cold winters which I have been struggling with.

How I found my inner power in the cold water? – First Part

”Diamond cut diamond.” This is the first winter I have swum with a friend in the icy water. This was exactly what I  needed.

My body simply wore steel armor. This is how I felt. Every time I met the cold It strengthened my body.

I found my own healing in the Slovenia lakes. It is a  meditation, fantasy, and training

(mental and physical training) I will tell you more about it.

Slovenia, a charming country for swimming in lakes. Let’s move with me into the magical cold waters in Slovenia.
