Ayşegül Karaali

I am just a curious person who likes nature and sports, hikes up to the mountains and jumps into the cold waters, runs in the forests and travels as much as possible. I am Aisha, a 23 year old Turkish girl, born and raised in Istanbul. Three years ago I moved to Slovenia with my little sister. We planned to stay in Slovenia for a year so that she could study and I could improve my English. After a while, I decided to continue with my studies in Slovenia. Started studying the language, and now I Iive and study in this beautiful country. I explore the country and its culture while still improving both English and Slovene. Here, I am going to share my stories with you. Join me through the adventure.

This technical movement is very different from the other swimming styles.

It resembles a dolphin floating in the water.

Swimmers use a single-piece pallet, specially made of fiberglass, with a large surface area. The athlete’s feet remain constant, they are not separated.

This gliding movement immediately tells us this sport is not easy at all. Another interesting equipment that is needed for monofin is a specific snorkel.

Monofin Technique

The technique of swimming with monofin, should be applied as fluently and simply as possible. The feet are in a large palette and they make the same stroke. The arms are extended forward over the head without actively participating in the motion and are held constantly there. The hands are placed on top of each other and the friction with water is minimized. Breathing is done with the help of a snorkel.
