We planned to go on a hike with my friend Luka, who is a trail runner. He trains every day for a few hours in nature. He is a kind of guy that behaves like a son of the forest. He trains every morning come rain or shine.
I woke up on a rainy and misty day and texted him, he was already on his way. Soon after, he came to pick me up.
We were going on a hill of Kamnik Savinjska Alps to Sveti Jakob.
On our way, it rained cats and dogs but when we arrived at the starting point, it stopped all over a sudden. The trail led us into the forest and slowly rose up to the hill. It was not very steep though in some places we had steps.
It took us an hour to get there, we were not fast at all. I was shooting and looking around with admiration. It was during the week in the morning on a rainy and misty day, for that we were alone on the trail may be the first experience in my life. We did not come across any person except a guy at the beginning of the way. Who told me that I had to prepare for the trail because It was going to be windy on the top. It was not windy at all but he made me a little worried about it. (I guess he was making fun of me)
At first, a group of sheep then a chameleon accompanied our way. It rained delightfully along the way. When we arrived at the mountain hut it was closed as we expected. Being alone in the forest on a misty and rainy day, walking in the rain was a priceless experience.
One day If you decide to hike in Slovenia do not fall for the weather! It might change all of a sudden. Still beautiful though to walk in the rain.
